Good news

Well, I am much calmer now, though I did get a cold which forced me to miss work. Oh well, the good news is that Novemberween went smashingly, with many of us getting smashed. It was a grand event, and very fun. Also good stuff is that Assistive technologies has told me that my computer is under full warranty, so this is goodly. Mreow!

I am tired now, and I should be asleep already, but its been one of those energetic evenings.

Too much geekery for one night (mostly comic books and watching superman the animated series)

Good night Seattle!

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.

Well, the lappy died off.

It is currently being fixed (hopefully), along with warranty from assistive technologies BC. I hope it is, since I am at my wits end with regards to one specific thing. I am borrowing Alex's computer, and aside from a very different keyboard configuration, It runs windows 7, with windows 7 paint program. This paint program makes pixel art - without any exaggeration at all - impossible. I don't know how they fucked up so badly, but I am incapable of using windows 7 paint program, and windows 7 does not support its older paint programs.

I am really fucking angry from this, and that is bad, because pixel art is how I usually relax. Now I have nothing but rage, and greater hate for microsoft. If I cannot get my lappy fixed, which is another anxiety I dont want to contemplate, I will have to try to get a new one with XP, or at least get a new one, and quickly get XP installed on it.

I am not having a good time.

However, I am trying to be calm, and celebrate Novemberween on Monday, which will hopefully be good. We will have baconduck, sushi, and other nommable foods. There will also be presents and other junk, so it promises to be fun.

Axis

The Axis of Alcohol

Well, tonight was a good night, and since I do not work on the morrow, I decided it would be prudent and alphanumeric to go and get alcohol. I had a sudden want for sake, so I went to the nearby alcohol monger, who sold me some fine stuff from japan. My first thought was to make some sort of night of it, so I also bought a German beer and Alex bought an Italian wine. Okay, the wine was not Italian, but I distinctly remember vineyards in Italy. They were full of grapes and Italians. So we had the Axis of Alcohol, and it was grand. We then watched the funny movies on my computer, I made noodles that turned into the Philippines, and then there was a cat dancing in front of a bear and an alligator, which turned into the Japanese pepper and cheese guys who shot hyper beams of flavour into the noodle jar of that gaijin woman who then was dancing up and down and talking about Choco party, which was okay. that was my night, and all my sake seems to be gone, as does my German beer, and all tats left is the endless black of the nightfall. I will go to sleep now, and dream of the days before the lighting of the world, and the turning of the gods.

Observation

I have noticed that I always think of awesome things to write when I am at work (which, by the way, I have been doing a lot of), but when I get home the will to write has left me. I have noticed over the years - notably while at school - that I am far more creative and zealous over my creation when I am supposed to be doing something else. I take this information cautiously, as I find it good that I have figured out more of myself (Know thyself), however bad that I work in such a particular fashion. I am sure Tom Waits would have something to say about this situation - being struck by inspiration at the worst of times. I will have to consider this, and try to make better sense of it, and see if I can work with/past it.

Thats all for now folks.

Om Nom

it means eating yummy foods.

So, I am feeling much better than I was a little while ago. Some strange junk has been happening at work, with an old coworker being rehired after she quit to leave town. She was not the nicest person working there, but she seems much better now, which is good. Everybodies hours have also been cut back to deal with the winter slow down, or moreover, to deal with flu season.

In happier terms, I now have more time off! and as if to rain on that parade, the sky is raining on my parade (which consists of me wandering around). Serious amounts of Gloom, and it has gotten to me a bit. the outside is grey and dark and yucky, and it is filling my day off with "Bleh".

To remedy this, I intend to drink more coffee, have some good homemade food, and try to watch a movie or write some junk, maybe for Kid Kaiju. I would like suggestions from any of the readers as to good possible Kid Kaiju related junk; new monsters, funny stories, something i should do for it, etc...

Giant Monsters!

I have been watching new - and rewatching old - giant monster movies, like the old Godzilla and Gamera films. I am glad we have the square-cube law, and yet I would not mind having giant monsters.... in Japan. I am sure the Japanese feel different about this, but to each their own.

I had three days off in quick succession, and more off on the way, which is great. I have done so much cleaning. I started cleaning and I accidentally... ...the whole apartment building. That's right, I cleaned the whole apartment building, all three floors, all the staircases. I also cleaned outside the entrance with my little grabby stick. I did these things because our land lord will seemingly never get around to it.

I also did laundry, dishes, and general tidying up, which i needed to do. Hooray!

fatigue

I am really tired, really and truly out of energy. I feel as though at any point, my potential energy will dry up and my atomic structure will collapse. I am that tired.

I have been working a whole bunch, as one coworker died, two quit, and one had a heart attack and won't be returning. The copperside staff is dropping like flies, but hopefully soon enough I will get weekends again. I believe I will be working Halloween, as I work every holiday or pseudo-holiday. I am going to bring a jack-o-lantern to work, and it will be good.

I have been frantically cleaning everything at home, and trying to retain my sanity, but I lost it this afternoon, only to be regained after dinner (which is a metaphorical time, as I haven't actually eaten yet, but I plan to soon).

I have a lot of things I've been wanting to blog about, but finding the time and energy is tough. I will try to get some more done soon.

Oh what a day

A hell of a day at work. as a general rule there has been too much of this work thing. It has begun to intrude upon the happiness of my being. This is unacceptable, and I fear some quarrel may become of it.

Specifically, the day of work was long, it began very busy, and ended painfully slow. In the middle of it, there was a lunch of mini-pizza...

There was something grievously wrong with the mini-pizza. It ended in getting sick in the washroom, and nearly all over a customer. I required hugs and healing.

At the nights end, there was also the final bird-flipping. Myron, one of the workers, called in sick... at 9:52... for his shift at 10... the manager (who was awoken by my coworker) was not happy about this. Mark (the night shift worker who did show up, all praises be to him) texted Myron asking what-the-hell was up, to which he responded (with paraphrasing) "I just didn't feel like coming in". we shall see how that will end.

On to better things, like drawing and writing. I have decided to look again (and work again on) the Cruiser Suit Chronicles (the mecha things with dropships and the like, in the future). It is fun, and I like it. that is all for now, as I am sleep deprived and want to relax.

Meow.

Devourer of Time

Well, upon the promise of updating more, I was set upon by an enjoyable behemoth of a monster. This Monster i will call Minecraft. Those not familiar with minecraft, I will explain.

It is a computer game, in which you are plopped down in a randomly generated world. this world consists wholly of 1m x 1m cubes, and is heavily pixellated. it is also heavily addicting. you can collect resources, and build items and buildings, and use them to refine resources into better resources. also, there is day and night, and during the day, there are pigs, sheep, cows, and chickens all about. at night however, there are zombies, skeleton archers, giant spiders, and explosive mutant-creepers. It is very fun and addicting, and I have played far too much of it (my number 1 world could give Moria a run for its money).

Aside from that, there was an awesome wedding which I did attend. Kathy got married, and there was sooo much dancing, music, and fun times. Not to mention the ceremony was held at the Japanese gardens.... omg terrace has a Japanese gardens!!!...when did that happen...

I have also been watching some quite good anime's of recent, namely Berserk and Last Exile. Both rewatches for me, bu I like them both, Berserk with its medieval epic, and Last Exile with its deiselpunk themes.

Finally, I have been reading spectacular comics. I now have a new favourite comic book series. Atomic Robo. its the continuing stories of the Atomic Robo, a nuclear powered automatic intelligence built by Tesla, who takes part in ww2 vs. the nazis, and leads a team of Action Scientists to save the world. Yep. Super Freakin Awesome. Read It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats all for now.

I am Back, Part 2

I am indeed back, and I hurt from glorious combat. The first utterance upon my arrival being an all too enthusiastic "Woo Hoo! the pain has returned!!!" from Keith. It was really fun, but I have fallen out of the limited shape I was in. No Matter, I will return to power.

On the drive home, I was thinking to myself - as I often do - about my latest activities, such as watching a lot of the video's from "That Guy with The Glasses". If you have not heard of it, check it out, as there is much geekery and the like. In any case, I got to thinking of the reasoning - or importance if you will - of the video watching.

That is to say I was contemplating the intrinsic value of watching so many videos. Part of me supposed that it was mindless brain-rot to have on in the background, and it is a viable possibility. However, in an act of self-reflective cognitive dissonance, I argued that there is a value to it. For example, watching the videos of Linkara, who makes it his business to verbally (and occasionally physically) trash bad comics. Although bad comics by themselves serve no real benefit, he imparts knowledge of other good comics and comic book characters as well.

thus was the avalanche of understanding - although being strange knowledge, it is in fact knowledge, which is inherently valuable. Comic book knowledge, although based on entertainment, is a human endeavour. It is an area of human knowledge, with thousands, if not millions of minds thinking about the same thing, knowing the same characters, acknowledging the same characters values, and partaking in the same rich mythologies.

At which point it occurred to me that comic books, for all their childish beginnings, form a strange cultural blip. Consider the following (Bill Nye); in countries across the globe, wherever there is relatively modern societies, people will have heard of the same character - Superman. Moreover, many cultures have taken this character and fused him with their own values, while retaining the original. It would be difficult to find anyone in the modern world who could not answer the simple question "Who is Superman?".

I suppose I will leave it there for now.

I'm Back...

Oh Hello There!

Well, it has been an age since I last graced the webways with my banter, and due to surprisingly popular demand, I am back on the air... um... nets. Unfortunately I am left with the dilemma that sometimes occurs with the majority of the population when faced with the question of "what has been going on?". From this disharmonious statement, one must draw upon the horrid truth that - in purest fact - nothing out of the ordinary has been happening.

This is the essential reason I have not updated in a while, marching alongside the powers of procrastination and laziness, and then there's the robots.

However, I will note some of the basic events of the past while:

1) Lots of work. holy crap, lots of friggin work, which is both good and bad. Work has been plagued by incompetent coworkers, unreliable coworkers, and other interesting shinanigans involving threats of various kinds upon myself. Nothing serious, but there are some crazies out there.

2) I have not been boffering in quite a while, due to weather, other activities, and aforementioned Laziness, though I will be in attendance tomorrow.

3) I have been gearing up my D&D junk to run James and Alex through some adventures when there is a day where we all have the night off. I will be running them first through a well known dungeon in the andrewverse of gaming history, involving rat people, open sewers, underground lakes, more open sewers, rat-assassins, and jays character falling into open sewers.

4) I have been trying to watch some more movies and shows, because they re fun.

5) I recently finished a book, lent to me - by mistake or design - by Kelly before she moved east. It is called "Talk to the hand", and is about the decline of politeness in our society (with a subtext of the author being driven insane by it).

6) I am a Squarebear.

7) talk like a pirate day is coming up soon, so everybody be ready (September 19th).

8) I recently got to see some dragonboat races, and let me tell you! it was less exciting than I thought it would be. Oh well, still good overall.

9) Back to D&D, when I was just starting university, and I was bored with no friends about to hang out with (which is much the same situation here in the wee hours of the morning), I would make random D&D characters. these characters could be used at a moments notice in the case of a pickup game, and it was fun to make characters. I have started doing this again, though only a few. It is fun, and I am reliving geekness.

That's it for now I think, I am happy to update again!

Back in time

I kind of wonder if anybody still reads this. Hopefully.

Last night, and Indeed, all of yesterday was quite awesome. It started with numerous tramping around town in the morning, timmys coffee, getting a good movie, watching a movie, and generally recovering from working. Then, Allison and I went to lakelse lake, the picnic area, and swam across the creek to the gruchies area. I got to see a trout, some golf balls in the water, and a freshwater clam. As it happened, Allison was too tired to swim back across the stream (its a big and deep stream, being about 200' wide where its good to cross), so she hopped on my back and I swam us back (Sea Panda to the rescue!). Then I made her a wonderful meal of KD, and the peasants rejoiced.

Later I went to boffer, which proved to be very good. At the beginning, I ended up taking victories in good number, at one point being myself and one other against 8 people, and unfortunately - we won. This was unfortunate, as I was a team captain, and could not be traded out, so the next battle was myself versus 9 people. I almost won. :)

It went quite well overall. I had lots of fun, worked well with the other bofferers, and eventually I got completely beat to crap. I had to take glorious vengeance a few times for slights against me in previous rounds, including, but not limited to: the god-damned dagger thrower, and the speedy guy named Devon. they cost me many a life, so I had to take such vengeful measures. It was fun overall, and i think everybody had a good time. My wounds were limited to being clocked in the right leg a few times, and having some bruising in the soft tissue and maybe even bone, and I also got blisters on my hand and knuckles from wielding my shield so much. I took good advice and bought some frozen veggies on the way back, which served as a cold pack. Now, I will, for the fun of it, list the mighty warriors who took part in glorious combat yesterday.

Myself = the beast
Keith = our benefactor and foamsmith
Aaron = the energetic one
Matt = the punisher (and also an honourary "the beast")
Trenton = the beast in training
Zack = a new fellow, seemed to enjoy himself a lot
Devon = the speedy one, also a blackbelt in jujitsu
Myles = a foamsmith as well, strong fellow
Amanda = a sneaky and good fighter
Trevor = the pirate
Kyla = the rogue
Kelly = the surprisingly-adept-at-dagger-throwing lady

I believe that was all that were there. It was a good day.

Okay, cool.

Okay, cool. I am kinda tipsy drunk.

Yes, that's right, I am tipsy drunk. I will attempt to spell correctly in my assertion of the evenings events. Well, I worked a long shift, in which i had to continue to teach a new coworker how to job. This did not go well, as she is slow on the uptake, and well.... she is not smart. This is unfortunate, as she is rather nice to the customers, and I think she would be a good addition to the team... if she can be left alone for more than 5 minutes.

Anywho, I was getting to the drunk part. I went to the Spirit after work to wish Alice a happy birthday and possibly dance. I did not dance, as my ankle and neck were hurt from various dancing and headbanging (respectively) during the prior evening. I did dispense hugs in good quality and quantity.

So I ended up having 2 beers at the place, and a shot of tequila. Then I eventually decided that sleep and recuperation were superior to auditory damage. I then began to mosey home, and upon venturing down my street, I was hailed by a neighbor. This neighbor said hello, and suggested I join him for a refreshing beer. I know him from work, so I decided to acquiesce to his proposition, as his recompense to delaying my homeward trek was in the form of alcoholic beverage. I ended up "chilling" in his house/shed/treehouse (groundhouse) while enjoying antiquated music and refreshing drinks. I found out that he was in fact a poet, and very oddly, a good one. He also seemed to display traits of the pseudo-paranoid archetypal leftist, but seeing as how this is rural northern BC, its usually either that or rednecks.

I then decided to venture home, and bid my farewell, thus getting home to watch space operas and draw space ships. And of course write this strangely worded blog. All in all - 5 beers, and a shot of tequila for taste - what a fine recipe.

Sincerely yours
- Lord Admiral Oates

The Pandrews Kitchen: Shin Ramyun Gourmet Spicy

Them Noodles

Price: $1.09 at the Superstore.

Cooking: 5 minutes on the stove top.

Okaydoke! Here goes - first taste!.... well, the noodles are fairly good, though omg holy crap... spicy. Quite spicy, but it is grand. It comes with a packet of dried vegable bits, which are pretty good. They still don't have much or any nutrition, but its still quite yummy. Beef flavour. Yum.
I recall getting this before, and now - as then, it is overly spicy, but very good tasting. I think I will try to more water next time, to get less powerful spice. The Spice must flow.

Very goodly overall, good quantity, good flavour, good price, good gravy. I will recommend this to others, but beware the burning greatness which is the hot spice. Muaahaha! Also, as an interesting side note, The Noodle pack is round, to make boiling in a small pot easier.

Lame. Anywho, I watched some god movies recently, such as "We Sell The Dead", which is about grave robbers who stumble upon undead grave robbing. Then of course, I watched "Teeth" last night. Yep. About a vagina with teeth that can cut off certain things during sex. Yep. A movie full of class, no doubt.

That is all for now.

Doing Okay

Hello

Well, a bunch of stuff has been going on, some good and some not so good, but I am okay. I am an Andrew, I will survive. The Back to the Future party went well, and that was good. All three movies were spliced together, and although it went very long, it was good.

Work is going goodly, though I did get to train a new person. She is very new to working, and does not really... learn quickly. So it was a little frustrating, but I made sure not to discourage her with anything. Thankfully she started picking up the basics eventually, which is good.

I picked up some more stuff for the Pandrews Kitchen, including some canned coffee beverages, and various noodle packs. Wootles.

That's gonna be it for now.

My my, look at the time.

Well, it has been a long time since my Last update, and A lot of thing happened. So many things happened that I was trying to make mental lists in my head of all the events, but I am bad with this memory thing sometimes, so Here is a quick annotated list.

1) Had a night of the living crazies: 4 incidents of crazy, deranged, swearing, meanie peoples in one night. it was a welfare Wednesday, so I guess that's why. One even verbally assaulted and nearly attacked our security lady - Lucy.

2) Lucy came by work and gave me a bonus on behalf of her and the bosses for fending off the crazies expertly (especially the one who was about to go after Lucy).

3) I finally went on a Canoe trip! it was a full day of boating on Lakelse lake with Allison. It was awesome, and I do like it, but I feel I must note (in a pseudo British wit that borders on morbid) that although it was very fun, it also nearly ended in terrible disaster. We began with a very light breeze which I plotted a course that would use the wind to push us back on the final length. This course took us across the lake to look at cool cabins and the like (still have not found the party boat). However, before we turned back for camp, the wind changed and blew up, forcing us to paddle against the wind in increasing waves, across the middle of the lake. Yep. I have diligently informed Allison that, should I ever suggest crossing the middle of the lake again, she is allowed to slap me - with one of the canoe paddles. Thankfully, Allison enjoyed the trip muchly, but fails to see the humour in my old-salt-mannerism of reflecting on the trip.. "Oh yeah, very fun, nearly died, but still fun."

4) a bunch of other stuff happened. I can't quite remember what, but It was incredibly important.

5) I got to go swimming for the first time this summer. Unfortunately, it was at the pool, and some vagrant seems to have pilfered my swim goggles. on the plus side, since it was the pool, Allison was not made cold by certain un-temperate lake qualities. We also hit up the gym beforehand. It was very good. We also got to go to the falls gallery yesterday, although I must admit, I was in a positively powerful mood to do some swimming and diving, and the falls gallery is mostly small sitting pools. It was still fun, but it did not fulfill my aquatic-mammal requirements. Though it still was fun. Too much sun perhaps.....

6) I am so pale. I have not had mush sun or swimming this summer yet, This must be rectified.

7) I have been enjoying some good books and movies as of recent. Yesterday I watched Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Yep, very silly. Recently, I also watched Dead Snow (which is about zombie Nazis attacking skiers in the Swedish mountains) and Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter (Freaking Awesome. It is about Jesus and his helpers - such as Santo the Mexican wrestler - helping to save the Lesbians of Ottawa from a sect of vampires. Oh, and it's a musical). Another movie i watched recently was Planet Hulk - the story of how the incredible hulk was transported to another planet and became their benevolent emperor... sounds strange, but they make it work quite well. I also read a very good book - Good Omens, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet. So very good, I suggest it to all peoples.

8) Boffer has been going well, though we had many rained-out days in the last little while. I hurt my ankle yesterday, but everything is still good.

9) Tonight is a Back to the Future party, which should be awesome. ^_^

10) I have been doing more work on the Seas of Iron thing (the thing with the WW2 looking boats), and in fact, I think that has been eating up all my writing focus for the last little while. I even started drawing some planes for it.

11) not much else now, but hopefully I will be able to do more usual updates, and not let it wait so long that I have a tough time remembering everything.

12) See you next time
- Andrew, from the FUTURE!!!

Fruck

I have more dentisting today. I want this dentisting to be over with. Rawr.

On the good/strange/just weird side, I watched "Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter" yesterday. It is an awesome movie where punk priests call up Jesus to help save lesbians in Ottawa from vampires. In doing so he teams up with a Mexican wrestler and gets a modern makeover. Yeah.... its as strange as it sounds, and cannot make sense while sober.

Good movie though, very epic and awesome.

Now I am off for drilling teeth and filling teeth. woot.

The Pandrews Kitchen: Indomie Instant Noodle

So here is a new idea I am trying out, basically a review of every persons favourite "I'm poor and influenced by Asia" meals - Noodles. I am sure other things will follow.

Indomie (or Indo Mie, not sure) Instant Noodles.

Price: 60 cents at the Northwest Specialty foods store.

Cooking: takes about 5 minutes, and is a little strange in its cooking sequence. Unlike the noodle king (Ichiban), you cook the noodles separate from the spices. The spices (Sweet soy sauce, Flavoured Oil, Chicken spice, and Chili powder) are opened and put on the plate or bowl, with the cooked noodle dropped onto it.

Well, it tastes really good, like really good. It isn't watered down like in a noddle soup, its very full flavoured, meaning probably a lot of MSG, but that's cool. although nowhere expressly stated on the package, I am sure its chicken flavoured (it is... instant... flavoured.... huh). One bad point is the quantity, you get very little for 60 cents, and although its really good, I think I would need multiple packs to have my hunger satisfied. I actually just had two in the last half hour, since they are so good.

The package is pretty standard, but as I said, does not anywhere tell what flavour it is, just that it is Instant. I did notice that it has a label of being Halal, which for those not in the knowledge, means that it is A-Okay for Muslims to eat, so that's pretty awesome. I think its honestly the first one I have seen like that.

Overall, its a good snack, or in multiples (perhaps 2 or 3) a good meal. I suggest trying it. That's all for this panda right now.

Repairs

Well

Its been a good many days since I last updated. I apologise. The Van was recently laid up in drydock for repairs to the locks and to the radiator, which started to leak/explode/steam profusely/frighten small children. It is repaired now, and that is good.

Work is normal, SNAFU to be exact, which is also good, as I like a challenge.

Boffer is very good, and I have been participating muchly, including the donation of a sled to make a round shield. War is fun.

I have bought a case from the newest set of "Axis & Allies: War At Sea", that being set 4; "Condition Zebra". It is Awesome beans!!! Canada gets another boat, a Cruiser, and that's friggin neato. I have played a few matches, but I want to play many more.

I want to create a MicroNation, or become part of one, I'm thinking maybe becoming a naval officer for Molossia. It would be an interesting thing to put on my wall. I've always wanted to have a wall of just goofy titles and degrees and such, like "Admiral in the Molossian Navy", or "Reverend of the church of the Internet", or "Private Dick", and the like. It would be fun.

That's all for now.

Schnitzel and Nuggets

A new lunch place has opened up in terrace, a little place called the Lunchbox, just a trailer-food place, but still good. I got a Donair, and It was yummable.

In news, the new set of Axis & Allies war-at-sea is coming out on Thursday. I am looking forward to it very much. I need to get some milk crates to put my map board on, so I can play some games with... um... someone.... hopefully....

Yep

Fabled Utilitarian Coworking Krazies

Well, Yesterday was a tough day.

Many of the work days recently have been very tough. I feel like I have been giving training to numerous one-time-only people for a while now. I haven't been able to get a full days work done in a while now.

Yesterday I got to work only to find out that I would be working alone for 4 of the 8 hours, and it was a very busy day. So I had to be cashier, and wait for the floor person to arrive, BUT WAIT! the floor person showing up has never worked before, and doesn't know how to do anything, so I had to do all the floor duties too (or as much as I could do, not being able to leave the front). BUT WAIT! I also had to teach her everything necessary for being a cashier, so I couldn't do much other work at all, since she was scheduled to work alone as cashier the next day. BUT WAIT! I also had to do a lot of the Deli peoples heavy lifting, since they are all women, and not ALLOWED to lift the heavy stuff (refer to previous post about endemic sexism in the workplace). BUT WAIT! the cashier manager (a sub manager, who is new... and still doesn't know anything because she spends most of her time barking orders and texting on her phone) came in and told my coworker who I was training, that It didn't look like I had been doing any work (and that one really annoys me, since I was basically doing 4 peoples jobs; both cashiers, floor, training, deli stuff...). BUT WAIT! I like tom waits.

So it was a stressful day, and I don't know if I got all the things done. I know I didn't get all the floor stuff done, since, well, I wasn't supposed to be on floor, and I can't very well leave the store empty to go into the cooler for 45 minutes. Oh well

To rectify the situation I came home and immediately had myself a beer and a bubble bath. I also bitched to Alex about my work, as he was a good listening ear (while dungeoneering in WoW), and he suggested that it sounds like the manager does not care about the place, so I shouldn't worry my head over it.

Allison is back here in the terrace now, and I have been hanging out with her a bunch in between work and her family getting her to do all the "this hard work can be delegated to my children :V" stuff, like gardening. That's about it for now, I am off to gather cans and bottles to take them back, and later on tonight is boffering.

I bid thee to have a good day

Rawr! 20XV6

Hello

A quick post. I am about to be picked up to go meet the Squee at the airport, and that is good. Work has been interesting as of late, as there is a shortage of workers, and they are putting random deli-people on the floor shift. Most of them don't know anything about how to do the floor duties, but I suppose that's understandable. I have also been doing most of the floor and cashier duties, as they are too hard for some of the deli-girls.

I am shocked at the amount of endemic sexism at my workplace. Real honest sexism, stating openly that the women cannot do all the duties that a man can. I am not a fan of this, and neither are some of the women deli workers. Its really shocking, but I suppose it is going unmentioned because the person in charge of these policies is in fact - a woman. I guess that makes sexism okay?....

I also hope I start getting to wear shorts at work, even the customers are starting to comment to me that I am sweating a lot, and seem... heatstricken. I really dont like it when its hot and muggy, I start getting all woozy.

Yep, I suppose that's all for now. Godspeed you Black Emperor.

A Bofferin Good Time

Hello There

Well, its been a little while since my last post, and not too much has happened. I have done a lot of working, helped Richelle move into her new place, and got a cell phone finally. Yeah. Me. A cell phone. The world has changed.

So, I just got back from Boffer, and it was awesome. I did a lot of fighting, including some duelling, and a lot of big-battle fighting. The cool story from this evening comes from when it was 5 on 3, and my two teammates stormed into the middle of the opponents, and managed to take one out, both in turn being taken out. However, I was able to flank around and take them on one-on-one in turn, and two on one.

Essentially, after my team members were out, it was me versus 4 opponents. They didn't stand a chance. I just took the closest ones out, each with a single hit, quickly dispatched one who charged me, and then mowed down the last as he started to turn to flee. It was fun.

^__^

I also gave Keith my round sled to turn into a shield, and some change and money to help him with overall costs, as he does supply pretty much all of the weapons and armour.

That's all for now, I am going to bubble bath and soak these poor bones and muscles.

Grunt.

Bloggins

Well, yesterday was a long day, and not that great - work-wise. lots of stuff is constantly changing, so I don't have any idea where anything is, and I can't help customers find stuff. Our stuff is constantly changing, including layout, shift changes, shift times, other junk.

One interesting note is that I will now be working the last hour of my shift (between 10 and 11) by myself. This is for... well... no good reason other than to change for changes sake. This is ironic, since sooooooo much of the stupidity at work revolves around conforming to various regulations from one subject to another. And yet, this new change goes completely against WCB regulations on late night workers (who need a second person on from the hours of 10pm to 6am).

The stupidity of other regulations can be seen in this: I am not allowed to wear shorts - because I might pump gas - even though the station is not full serve - and I do not pump gas for customers - since I am a cashier - but I could possibly pump gas - and those who may somehow pump gas cannot wear shorts - because.... um.... that parts never well defined. Apparently shorts will cause explosions or something.

This "grants law" thing has not always been good in my opinion (prepaying for fuel causing a lot more strife with customers than anything else), and at Copperside 2 I did not care so much. Copperside 3 however, right next to harlem, should always have 2 people on in my opinion, just by common sense. Especially during the peak hour for drunken idiots.

Yep.

I have coffee, so I am good right now. I suppose that's all for now, talk to you laters.

Long post is lengthy

Might want to grab a beverage and some snacks for this one. I haven't updated in a while...

So Much to tell. Firstly, I went on my trip down to Vancouver to see Allison, and to hang around in Vancouver. This began with a flight down on Air Canada Jazz, which was really good. Apparently it is not the busy season for flying, so I got a row all to myself, and it was good fun. I like flying, it is fun. When I got down there, I met up with Jess, and I was glad to see her, as it has been quite a while. We made our way on the Canada line to the seabus (I love the seabus), and then to the Quay, and finally to Phibbs (the phibbs exchange). I was tired from the trip though, so I was not much good at making fun plans. Oh wells.

The majority of the time down there revolved around the grad art show, which was super awesome and much better than Emily Carr :P I ended up helping out some of the people at the art place, like Jose, who was just finishing his piece 15 minutes before the start of the show. At one point I also bought lunch for Allison and her friend Nina, who is a starving art student, and - in my opinion - needed foods. Also there was a lot of dinners, lunches, and visiting with Allison's family, which I think went very well. I think they liked me overall, which is good ^_^

The big fun I got to do was a day just for Allison and I when we went to Stanley Park! We went to the aquarium, and I got to see otters, and belugas, and dolphins, and a big amazon fish and a whole slew of other things. It was very Awesome. Then we walked around Stanley park, and got to see the lighthouse and cannon. :) The whole adventure was fun, followed by sushi and shopping at a Japanese specialty store.

Mochi is a strange but very good food.

Tuesday night Allison went to the opera with family, and I navigated my way back to her place, stopping on the way back to buy a big thingy of flowers for her ^_^

The trip back Wednesday was also good, I got my own row again, but there was slightly more turbulence just outside of terrace. It was still good and Dad picked me up from the airport.

Since I got back, it has been a lot of Work and cleaning, and still more cleaning. I came back to work to find that my boss had been fired by the big-boss. Apparently her rudeness towards customers finally got her in trouble (she was kind like the grouchy person with a heart of gold). My new boss person is the person in charge of the deli, and she is very nice.

I have been recuperating, and having the occasionally fun stuffs. Richelle came over one day, and we hung out, catching up on stuff and I ended up showing her lots of pics and maps and photos and stuff.

Yesterday I went to hang out with Keith, and there was "Boffering", which is the act of using boffers. Boffers are the foam-covered sticks used to imitate medieval combat. So boffer swords, maces, daggers, shields, pikes, and otherwise. It was Really fun! imagine SCA with "beer and pretzel" rules. we had single combat, as well as big battles (which requires 8+ people). I am going to try to convince others to come and enjoy this game of brutal foam melee. It is also the only real fun exercise I've found since fencing, and it also uses all my fencing skills. Even though it was my first time, I quickly too position as a premier fighter.

At one point somebody hit my leg, so I had to go down on one knee, and there were two more opponents. I could hear my team-mates (who were lying down because they were dead) comment "well, he's injured, so we're probably going to lose...". I proceeded to be flanked by the two remaining fighters, and in some flash of warrior-savantism, I managed to - in one fluid motion - take out both opponents. It felt so very awesome, made better by team mates comments of "holy crap.....".

I think I will endeavor to join in these happenings in the future. I likes Boffering.

That's about it for now, I intend to go see Iron Man 2 tonight, and Allison will be watching it at the same time in Vancouver. Mrawr!

Current Creative Outlet: pseudo-WW2 universe setting called "Seas of Iron" (or called that until further improvement). I have drawn a few maps for it, detailing the fictional countries in their "great war". I have also drawn numerous ships used by each side, such as the ones below: The LMS Pegasus (LMS meaning "Lord Majesties Ship") and LMS Illustrious - both from Cordia, a nation analogistic to Britain, and the Amyagi - a ship from Rin-Quiy, the analogy of the Japanese Empire.

I have also been listening to a band called "The Headstones", who did a cover of an old Travelling Willburys song "tweeter and the monkeyman". Its good, and I wholly suggest listening to it.

Hopefully I will be updating more often now. Have a happy day everyone!

Rawr!

Hello there ladies, gentlemen, and animate constructs.

I worked today, had some crazy-ass drunks that were threatening me in strange manners and couldn't stand up straight. I have also been drawing more boats. Not much at all to report.

Do you realize that there are only 33 major naval vessels in the current Canadian Navy (with an additional 9 training and auxiliary vessels, but they don't count). Are you also aware that there are roughly 34 million Canadians (based on a 2010 estimate using 2006 census data). That means that the odds of a Canadian being a naval captain is about 1 in 1,000,000. Now You Know!

Also, I was mentioned in an article in the Uglyships Blog. http://uglyships.wordpress.com/2010/04/09/burrard-otter/

Yay!

Damn the Torpedoes!

All Ahead Full!

Update Time! and boy howdy, it has been some days. Not really notable days, but, well, days. I am all better and such from my cold, and that's awesome. The Sea Dog Amber Ale is so very nommable, and I have been watching many good movies recently. Most recently were "Flags of our Fathers", "Letters from Iwo Jima", "A Bridge Too Far", and other WW2 themed ones.

Today at work there was an incident where I tried to not get all stressed and let the anxiety get the better of me. And It WORKED. A guy came in for smokes and stuff, and I ID'd him, since he looked young, to which he responded "What the fuck, I'm 29, I don't have ID!", followed by various swears and "your idiots" and not nice stuff. And I could have let it get to me and be anxiety, but then in a moment of serenity and goodness, I responded appropriately. In a voice loud enough for him to hear, but not shouting, I said "You're a Meanie" in my semi-cute voice.

I think he was confused as he continued his storming-out tantrum.

so what else... I have been drawing boats. Um... wait, that's never new. Oh Well, I have been drawing boats, specifically ww2 chibi boats, and it is fun.

Yep, that's all for now. Happy thoughts to everyone finishing their year of school. Happy thoughts to everyone else too (like the workers, the homemakers, but not the bourgeoisie :P).

Sea Dog

Hello there

Well, I'm in the middle of having a cold, and its no fun. I got a cold around Thursday, and it was steadily getting worse through till Sunday. I had work on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and lemme tell you, Saturday was a tough day, I was sneezing and coughing.

So I grudgingly asked Ethel for Monday off to recuperate (and honestly, pretty important in my mind - not giving my cold to the very elderly regulars at work, whom it would probably kill). I got Monday and Tuesday off, so this is good. I have been sleeping a lot, and watching a lot of movies and Internet shows (notably ww2 movies and Dragonball Z - I'm going to finish it one day).

Also, I have been reading the series Lone Wolf and Cub, and today I went to the library and got out the last two books in the series. I also got an email saying that my special request from the BCL came in, Sea Dog Amber Ale. An ale commemorating 100 years of the Royal Canadian Navy :)

That's all for now, I will go back to watching shows, drinking coffee, and sweating out my illness.

- 1 in 10 servings comes with its own IED.

...I don't know, just popped into my head.

well, nothing great to report I suppose, after the last dentist appointment, when the freezing wore off i came to a grim realisation that I couldn't taste anything on the left side of my tongue. When the dentist was giving me anesthetic, I think he pinched a nerve or something. It may take weeks, months or longer to heal, so that kinda sucks... a lot...

In good news, I got an "I am poor" cheque from the government entitling me to 353 buckaroos, so that is good.

In bad news, I am getting sick with the sniffles, runny nose and lots of sneezing.

In good news, a regular at the store won 1500 dollars on the lottery today.

That's it for now, talk to you all again another time.

National Masturbation

Hello

The title you ask?, well, I just watched a good movie, and it made me ponder a bad movie. I just watched the WW2 classic "Tora! Tora! Tora!, which was an epic 1970's film, with beautiful directing and cinematography, as well as a balanced portrayal of the American and Japanese motives. Neither side being wholly good or wholly evil. They also go the extra step and re-enact stunning dogfights with real restored airplanes used in ww2 (and a painted up American plane called a "Texan", but made to look like a "zero". I suppose not many Zero's survived the war).

Compare then, to the wank-stain equivalent which is "Pearl Harbour", made in I-don't-give-a-fuck, pearl harbour was a flashy piece of something, that quite frankly hearkened back to the cowboy and Indians era. It was the Good-noble Americans attacked without warning or reason by the evil demonic Japanese non-Christians. the scenes are made to look flashy, filled with attempts at emotional empathy. It reminds me less of a movie based on historical fact, and more of a big-fish story acting as porn for the collective American national masturbation (America, Fuck Yeah!).

the funniest thing of all is that Tora! Tora! Tora! actually looks more realistic. The characters or more real, the facts or more real, and it seems like it might have actually been an event perpetrated by, and involving, human beings. just a funny observation.

Anyways, I went to the dentist, for what I thought was an hour-long appointment. turns out it was 3.5 hours, so that sucked. Now I have to go to work. If it was going to be so long and "surgerific", i would have tried to get the day off.

I also got a new cooking pan, its one of those paderno eco-friendly thingamajigs. I like it because it has a super-duper-no-sticking-ever surface, made of ceramic stuff. apparently 10x stronger than Teflon, and not nearly as cancer-ish. i made cajun eggs. Nom.

Till next time

New Post

Oh Hello

How are you fine readers?

Well, the last few days have been good, its the Easter weekend, and I have been working a lot. Yay for working on stat holidays! I gets moneys! Hooray for the pagan goddess Eoster, and her dominion over fertility. Woot.

I got a couple of packs of the Axis & Allies War at sea game in the last few weeks. I really wanna play some games with peoples.

I went to Rupert again, this time with Brandon, Ktana, and Marty. I acted as a guide, showing them the long tunnel, and then the turrets at prince Rupert. it was pretty fun overall.

That's about it for now. More short blogs will follow.

Long Blog is Long:

An Apology to those with short attention spans.

Hello!

Well, I haven't been updating all that often, fear not, I am not dead. I did get sick though, and that kinda sucked. More than the coughing, the really bad part was that I didn't feel like doing anything, not cleaning, not bloggin, nothing. So now I will attempt to recap a few major events of recent.

Firstly, to pick up where the last post left off, the cave experience was awesome. We went out to the "long tunnel", aka Mines of Moria (we being Me, Rob, Alex, Kyla, and Jon). It was really fun, and there were no goblin attacks. We did end up making it through the entire tunnel, though there was an old cave-in half way through, and the second half was more flooded (only the old ww2 railroad rails were above water. they were also very close together, and I got along most of the second half by moving in a very tight fencing position ^_^ ). I did get a soaker, but it was okay, since the whole thing was fun. Jon tried to get pics, but they apparently didn't turn out, so we are already planning to go again, and bring a tripod, and boots/water shoes. We kept on going to rupert to get dry clothes and coffee and a few other random things, and then came home.

Then I got sick. Not related to the tunnels, as I was actually getting a little bit of a cough beforehand, but I really wanted to go. so I had a sore throat for the last week, with varying amounts of laziness/tiredness. I still went to work though, so that was good.

At work unfortunately, I encountered a Keno Zombie. these are people who are so concentrated on Keno that they do not react to the outside world anymore. One woman came in to play keno, and ended up standing right where I needed to put down a mat. so I asked her to move.... for 8 minutes straight. 8 minutes of "mam? mam, can you please move, excuse me, mam? excuse me, mam? hello? can you please move for a moment?", but she never acknowledged me. so eventually, i just put the mat down kinda draped around her legs, but she still didn't notice, she just stared at the keno board.

on to other stuff, namely that I am in the market for a new sidekick, as my former sidekick is going solo, off in a new city. It is kinda like with Batman & Robin, where robin eventually struck out on his own, becoming Night Wing. Jay is becoming Night Jay, as opposed to just "Jay" (which is a kind of bird). I send luck and best wishes to Jay in his crime fighting in his new city.

Other than all that I have been cleaning a bunch on my days off, to make up for the whole "not cleaning thing", and now my room is all sparkly again. :3

One thing that happened at work recently annoyed me. I'll keep it brief, but essentially a woman from the Friendship house wanted us to not sell energy drinks to native kids, because she was concerned about the health problems. Really concerned, she equated it to being worse than smoking and heroin, and fell just short of accusing me of being some sort of devil-worshipping drug pusher. Although she was nuttier than a granola bar, it did raise an ethical dilemma in me as far as the balance between "regulation for possible safety concerns" and "Personal freedom and personal responsibility" are concerned. I tend to think that we have gone far overboard on the "for your own good" thing. I worry that we have downplayed the idea of personal choices, freedoms, and responsibilities, maybe even to the point that people don't even understand it anymore.

Take smoking: everybody and their infant knows that smoking is bad for your health, but to some that means that it should be made illegal. The idea of someone having the opinion of "yes, i know it is bad for me, but I choose to do it anyways" is foreign and strange. Imagine if we continued down this slippery slope (admittedly, I think we are already half way down the slope already): you cannot be a police officer, its too dangerous. You cannot join the military, it may be bad for your health. Not allowed to go skiing, you may hurt yourself. Sugar causes diabetes and cavities, we should make it a controlled substance.

"You Betrayed the LAaauuueeeaaaaooaaw"
"The Laaaaeeeeuuuuuueeeaaaaww?"
(judge Dredd reference anyone? sugar is a controlled substance? because its bad for you? no personal freedoms, only the law and the unmerciful judiciary system? anyone?)

So right now, as a creative outlet, I'm trying to work on some stuff for Cold Metal, though I may rename it. Its the post-Apocalypse rpg world where humans actually were annihilated, and the only sentient life now is little religious 6cm tall robots. Mostly I have just been trying to come up with good names that have a Christian/Jewish/Muslim/computer-stuff sound to them.

Anyways, that's my journal/rant/bloggins for today, everyone should have a good day today.

Silly world

Well, I rented the movie "Animal Farm" from the library, as well as the books "lone wolf and cub", and I like the books. However, upon trying to play the movie, I found it was actually too scratched to watch, so I ended up just watching it on youtube.

There is good reason to not rent movies these days, DVD's tend to get very beaten up.

That is all for now, Sunday promises to be grand, as I will be leading an expedition into the mines of moria. Hooray!

Oh hello, I didn't see you sitting there.

Well, I feel much better now, I have returned to creative meanderings, including drawing small chibi (yet pretty cool looking) transformers. I am gradually getting back into other stuff too. Not much else to report I suppose, my mind is jumbled, but its clearing itself back out now.

Root canal

Hello

Well, its been some not so great days. Sunday I felt sick and bad, and did not go to work, but I was able to call in several hours beforehand and get someone to cover my shift. This morning I got a root canal, that took 4 hours to finish. Thankfully the dentist guy was much better this time, and it went by painlessly (if a little bothersome to lay there for 4 hours with my mouth wrenched open).

Today I was struck by an odd sensation. For the first time in... as long as I can remember, so Ill say at least half a year, I did not feel creative. I just didn't feel like doing anything, like drawing, like writing stories, or like making rpg stuff. I just sat around after my dentist appointment, not remembering what else there is to do. I ended up hanging out in Alex room with him while he played warcraft, and having some gin and tonic. I honestly can't remember what else I used to do when I wasn't being creative.

Thats it for now

Oh, Herro

Ohai

Just got back from work, and things are going well.

I have been watching the old transformers cartoon show, and "Oh Mys". The writers must have been on something. Perhaps they were on several things. I like the show overall, but they have some major plot holes, and continuity error (the biggest and funniest being that sometimes all the robots can mysteriously fly, and other times they are limited to the ground. all depending on what the plot requires).

Yep.

So here is my question to those reading this blog, Did you watch the transformers? and if so, Did you have a favourite transformer. Moreso, I invite you to suggest to me a good transformer (basically some sort of vehicle and a rank/role/concept). Yep.

Eggs & Bacon

Hello

Nothing is really happening today, just thought I would say hello to those who read this. I am somewhat bored right now, but I shouldn't be, since I have things I should do today. Its my day off, so I get to do some cleaning, some dishes, some laundry, and dangit, I intend to do some writing.

Been watching a lot of the videos from Nostalgia Critic and company recently. They are quite funny. All of the "that guy with the glasses", "the dudette", "spoony", and some of "linkara" are pretty good (though linkara - being a reviewer of comic books - seems to not like Garth Ennis or "the boys" - odd).

So I am writing a short story about giant monsters, known as Kid Kaiju. The specific story I am writing is entitled "Kingzilla vs. Mechakingzilla". It is a comedic parody, and damnables, I wanna keep working on it.

That's all for now - *Internet High Five*

Multi-Culture

So I was reading my morning news sites, and I stumbled across an article on the CTV website that said some eastern Canadians were up in arms about the lack of bilingualism in the Olympics. One Quebecois politician apparently remarked that VANOC is treating the Quebecois culture as a "subculture". Which it is.

Now what they don't seem to understand, is well, many things. firstly, calling a limited regional culture a Subculture, and using the prefix "sub" is not calling it inferior (cue the wonderful remark "there isn't anything inferior about submarines."). Being that Canadian culture is literally an amalgamation of subcultures. I don't know if there is any major over-arching Canadian culture (which admittedly, is a bad thing), meaning that all the subcultures in fact combine to form our Multi-Culture.

Secondly, I take serious issue with the Quebecois advocated trying to make their culture literally more important than all the other ones in Canada. No culture is more superior than any other, since cultures aren't rated on a scale, nor can they be qualified as a few bad or good things. The age-old rationale for Quebecois culture being more important is that they were instrumental in founding Canada. So was Britain, the too-numerous-to-even-write-down native cultures (many of which in Quebec, are still not allowed to carry out their native traditions, I might add), Chinese immigrants, Japanese immigrants (there are Japanese villages on the coast that existed since 1800's, until WW2 when they were relocated to inland camps). Canada was made up of hundreds if not thousands of cultures, which when mixed together, amalgamate into one large thing we call our Multi-Culture.

Thirdly, and possibly fourthly, its Fricken Vancouver. Why would half the games be in Quebecois and half in English if its held in Vancouver. Around 8% of people in Vancouver can speak any french, let alone fluently. Now I can understand that the Olympics is supposed to represent Canada, but in the past when it has been held on the eastern side of this country, the Quebecois content has understandably been much more. Considering its being held in Vancouver (and seemingly paid for by only British Columbia, and for the next 20 years to come), maybe it should show the subcultures relevant to Vancouver and British Columbia, such as Coastal Natives (and there is a lot of them), Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian (from India), as well as numerous others - even white people (which are actually many subcultures, like Scots, English, Germans, Ukrainians, Italians, French, Scandinavians, and many more, but we all get clumped into "white", since our culture isn't important :P ). If Vancouver wanted to be Bilingual, maybe they should have been in English and Cantonese.

So why is it primarily in English (to the ear-burning anger of all Quebecois)? Well, because English has taken on a role as a somewhat universal language, indeed, itself being an amalgamation of hundreds of other languages, starting as a means for Roman soldiers to solicit Anglo-Saxon women. Thus, most people in Canada, nearly all of them, will understand English. Speaking Quebecois in the Olympics makes about as much sense as having major speeches spoken in traditional Gitxsan. many people would have no clue whats being said.

Now don't get me wrong, I generally don't support that massive over-spending and stereotyping incurred by the Olympics, but in the situation pertaining to not having enough Quebecois content, I can't blame them. As a British Columbian, the concept of "wait a minute, does this adequately represent the culture of a regional people who live 3500 km away?" just does not come to mind.

Well, that was a heck of a rant, I didn't mean to write all that, but oh well.

The "What The Fuck" Scale

Measured in Hard Alcohol shots.

I estimated last night to be about a 2. I had a little bit of insomnia, so I was not getting to sleep all that easily. I was beginning to drift off into sleep when I thought I heard a knock at the door. I did in fact hear a knock, so I got up and cautiously opened up the door, to see some drunk short cigarette-smoking woman loudly asking "what are you doing in my sons apartment?". She also tried to get herself in the apartment by shoving myself and the door aside, but that didn't work.

She continued to ask "what I was doing in her sons apartment" (while slurring). I actually did quite well for sleep deprived and annoyed. I calmly told her that she must be mistaken, as only myself and my room mate lived there, and she was neither my mother or my room mates. I think at this point logic slowly caught on. She looked at the door number, and back at me, and asked if this was the third floor. I told her it was the second, and she just walked away.

So that was strange, and rightly deserving of a 2 on the WTF Scale.

And then it bumped to 4. about 10 minutes later, while I was still contemplating what was going on, there is another knock at the door, and when I answer the door, it is her again, this time coated up, and beginning with the statement "I just forgot my.... oh... wrong apartment again."

Apparently she confused the second and third floors again. I'm not sure how drunk she was, but as many who have visited this apartment would attest, it would seem to be very hard to mix up the second and third floors (for numerous reasons).

So that was pretty odd.

Much Better

Well, I have started work at copperside 3, and it is very fun. I also seem to be getting a lot of work there.

Unrelated to that, I have been watching a bunch of Giant Monster Movies recently, and I really wish there was some place I could actually buy or rent them here. I am currently watching "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" (the smog monster), and its message is very environmental. Its also really strange, as it was made in 71, and has some cartoonish scenes.

yep, I wish a happy day to everyone reading this.

A Little Better

Well, I am feeling a little better now, things are not as catastrophic as yesterday. My situation does not look quite as dire as before, as hopefully I will get on working at Copperside again. They may be in need of "big guys" at copperside 2, since they had an armed robbery the other day, and it scared some staff away.

Also, I talked to dad today, and he insisted on helping me out a bit financially. It was odd, since most of the time, he has had less money than me, but he has insisted on it, so I gratefully accepted.

on a different note, Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody is awesome :)

P.S. Since I was not feeling happy, I was listening to a lot of music. However, I am not an emo, and so I did not listen to those emo-pop-garbage. No, for me it has been Metal and Punk for the last few days. It has made me more cheerful :)

I feel again like the dog stuck on the trafic island, in the middle of rush hour. Elements of the world flash by, confusing and terrible in power, ready to hit me at any moment should I unknowingly wander into their path.

So, I was not approved for EI. The insurance against lack of work will not cover me, because I have not had enough work. Think about that one.

So, I went to the welfare office, but I pretty much broke down with anxiety and tears and couldn't finish filling out the forms. I took the forms with me, but I feel critically depressed when I think about being on welfare, I think I would rather go back to Rupert than be on welfare. I just could not handle it.

I brought back all the cans and bottles that have been stored in the van since august, with intent to get enough money to buy the haggis and neeps for robbie burns day. I got 23 dollars, which is more than enough (haggis is typically 15-18 dollars). Then I came to another dissapointment, that no store in all of terrace apparently has haggis this year. I dont know what im going to do.

I still want to have some robbie burns celebration, but neeps is not enough.

I feel so much depression and rage. I just don't know what to do.

Prepare to Resume Communication

Well, the Holiday season is quickly coming to a close, and It has been full of the unexpected and the eventful.

Firstly, my employment at the coffee shop has discontinued. I was sorta half let-go/half quit, so its difficult to explain. Basically, the Lazy-ass boss that's useless in all ways (which is different than the other nice boss) called me lazy, and said I needed to stop playing around and get to work, or I would be let go. So I called him on it, thus kinda half-let go, half-quit.

Gotta keep this all short...

I went to Rupert for Christmas, had a good time, got to see many of my family and old friends, which was very good. It was good to see my brother Hans, as I have not in a while.

I got lots of cool presents, like the watchmen DVD, and a new awesome coat. ^_^

I held the first new years party I ever have, since I have an apartment now. It was quite fun, with a limited number of people, and nobody got sick or such, we all just had lots of fun, complete with a mild game of kings.

Allison goes home today, but it has been a good visit. ^_^

That's all for now. I am going to attempt to post more again. Now, it is coffee time.
