The Beast stood there, wearing a Tux

The title, as usual, does not have anything to do with the post, it is just whatever came to me at the moment. Well, it was payday today, and with all things accounted for, I can pay rent and then some.

I went to the dentist, and the new dentist is probably only a year or so older than me, and has little interpersonal skills. It is obvious that he has had some "training" in how to deal with people better, but he lacked the ability to observe and pick up on subtle (and not so subtle) cues with individuals. He blathered on for 15 minutes about priorities and the backup of extraction, and making tough decisions, and more about priorities and talking about what the purpose of dentistry is (during all of which I couldn't get a word in edge-wise). I had to wait for him to leave before I quickly asked the nurse "so how many teeth need work, and how many in short time?", to which she replied "9 and only 3". There, that's all I was looking for.

Some docs really need to learn how to deal with individuals, not with "people". Learn 2 psychology noob.

I then went to the doctors office, where I talked to Dr. Lakhoo, who was a breath of fresh air comparatively. the appointment went along these lines:

Doc: hi, what do you want?
Me: this is what I want.
Doc: here you go.

Much better. So I got some blood testing underway, but it could take 2 weeks to receive the results. Big Money, Big Money, No Whammies, No Whammies!

That is all

I have the coffee

I do have the coffee, some Kicking Horse coffee.

Well, I have been geeking out a lot lately, but not in the realm of D&D or any such thing. I have been doing a lot of drawing and writing pertaining to a universe setting of mine, the one called "Cruiser Suit Chronicles". It details the known universe of the year 2550, in which mankind has travelled out into the galaxy (though not all too far), and controls hundreds and hundreds of colonised star systems. Factions have arisen, leading to the domination of the known sphere by 5 major factions, and numerous other minor factions. When these powers go to war, it is by means of mecha known as cruiser suits. Faster-than-Light travel is by means of some sort of Jump-Engine which teleports a vessel from one place to another simultaneously (I have not come up with a name for the jump engine yet - any suggestions are welcome).

That's what I've been working on lately, and it has been quite fun.

Yep.

I am off for more coffee and walking around!

Walkabout

Today I went walking! I meandered around town, going to the coffee shop, shoppers drug-mart to get some more Tylenol (damn you tooths! you will be defeated by the dentist soon!!!!), then to the bakery for cookies and bread, and finally a stop by the Asian food shop before heading home.

It was a really beautiful day, with a blue sky, crisp air, and happy people wandering all about. There was also a drunk guy who crossed the street and narrowly avoided being run-over, subsequently causing a traffic thingy. I'm not sure he noticed, since he was looking down, and his eyes were closed (from what I could see). Ah, Terrace.

The sun and rain have taken away the snow, but it will be back soon, I have no doubt.

I have been watching Dragonball Z from the beginning (I've only ever seen individual episodes before, but I have had a rough explanation of events), and It is oddly good. I have just made it through the Freeza Saga.

^_^

That is all for now, to everyone reading this, Have a Good day!

Happy Stuffs

Well, mostly good news, the van is fixed for now. A starting switch burned out, which made it unable to start or do anything.

That is good for now.

Yesterday I watched the new Star Trek movie, and I must say, it is very awesome. It may even be enough to reboot the whole star trek franchise, which has been waning as of late. It even made me like star trek again, which hasn't really happened since long ago when I used to watch "The Next Generation" with my grandfather.

I am happy for this.

It has started snowing in terrace, so sometime soon I may post pictures of me in the snow, if such events happen (or rather when they happen).

That is all for now, everybody have a good day!

Jello Shots in Moderation

The above statement is false.

I have not updated in a few days, but that's mostly because of anxiety (Damn You Anxieties!!!). A major catastrophe has occurred, of which I am unsure of the future outcome. A few days ago, while on our way back from groceries, the vans electrical systems began to smoke a lot. This has never happened before, but after parking it and making sure it wasn't on fire, I let it sit to "cool off" so to speak. The next day I tried it again to see if things were still not right. The van didn't turn over. So, I'm going to consult the parents, take it in to the mechanic, and hopefully get it fixed. It may be beyond fixing, but I don't want to think about it.

That is all, happier post tomorrow.

Wootles and Gravy

Well, a lot has happened in the last few days, all quite minor, but a lot from my perspective.

I bought a new chair, as the old one was seriously starting to give me back problems, combined with the horrible box-spring I was using under my mattresses (which is also now gone). So I bought a new chair, and its awesome, and I got rid of the box-spring thing. I also got my printer up and running. I tried making a super-awesome costume of Coolness, but that ended up not working, the cardboard went soggy from the undercoat I used before painting, so it all fell apart.

So instead I decided I will go to the party as Brock Samson (from the Venture Brothers tv show), which requires me to bring my big knife, keep my hair down, talk in a funny manner, and have my OSI ID on hand (which I found on the net and printed off)

That is all for now.

Politically Incorrect Irony

Hello, its been a few days since posting, but that's just the way things go in Albuquerque.

So I was privy to an ironic moment on the Internet, very politically incorrect, but horrible and funny all the same. The main story on Aljazeera was that of Germany commemorating the fall of the Berlin wall, with all sorts of strongly worded talk about "fall of evil" and "rise of freedom" and even "walls enclose freedoms" and such. Right under that was a different article about Palestinian and foreign protesters damaging a segment of the West Bank Wall. Now, the correlation here is staggering, a states government cutting off human rights and freedom of mobility via walls and armed military response. Unfortunately, serious repercussions can often come from being critical of said modern state, so I will speak no more of it.

In other news, I have been drawing more Microheroes, as has Allison, and it has been quite fun.

Current Creative Outlet (CCO): Cruiser Suit Chronicles: mecha wars in the far future taking place over numerous star systems. 5 major factions: The Archean League, The Federated Suns, The Krieg Combine, The Terran Republic, and The Wotan Hegemony.

Title goes here

Well, I do have a bit of a cold, and I was able to get a really nice co-worker to take my shift, so I can stay home for the day to recuperate.

So of course, I have been watching old Godzilla movies.

That is all for now.

It's Not Lupus

Nothing much to say today. I woke up and my tongue felt swollen, which worried me. Then I wondered if I might be getting some sickness. I looked on web MD, and tried to see what a swollen tongue might mean. One of the possibilities was dehydration in adults.

That would easily explain it, as I had a lot of Gin & Tonic, and Wine, and Beer, and Mead last night. Anywho, otherwise I feel Good.

So I'm happy that I rediscovered the fun of drawing microheroes. Since I have time now I have started doing the Challenges set forth by the Microhero Community. At some point I may send some in to the good folks (like "Ze Ball Breaker"). Here are two Challenges I just did - Myself as a green lantern (my favourite comic book character), and myself as a transformer (transforming into none-other than my van).

Here is the link to the Challenge site for other examples.

P.S. upon inspection, the pictures showed via Blog upload appear to be in jpeg format, and are thus quite corrupted on a pixel-level. If anybody wants the actual BMP or PNG copies, talk to me online. I am also willing to give people my supply of templates and such if they want to make their own microheroes.
