Lists & Coffee

Good morning, I'm speaking to you from beyond the binary. I am drinking a hearty cup of coffee now, and it is yummy in my stummy, but on to other matters.

The compy and all computer systems seem to be fine. As a follow up to my last (long ago) post, I got my computer fixed, under warranty, for the low price of 16 dollars in shipping costs (it did have to go to Illinois or someplace like that).

Now on to greater endeavours. But First - a word from our sponsor:

"Tired of the same old Internet grind? tired of finding the pixels in the same coordinates, over and over and over? maybe you need... FRIENDS WEBSITES! That's right, for the low price of two Nickles and a curse word, you two can visit the joy and happiness of friends websites, such as http://pyrofishproductions.blogspot.com, or http://adanicphoto.wordpress.com. we now return you to our regularly unscheduled blog entry"

So what have I been up to, well, since I can't tell you in song (this is a written blog after all), ill give you fine readers the low-down... whatever that term really means.

1) I have been working on a game system. I wanted to make a basic game system that could be used for superheroes and that kind of thing. So I put to work making a system based around freedom of action and superpowers. I even was able to test run the thing with Allison, and it proved that my system needed a few upgrades. It has taken lots of time, but it seems like it could be pretty fun. Also, looking at it afterwards, I came to the conclusion that it could actually be used in other settings, not just superheroes. So I seem to have made a universal game system by accident. Oh well. :V

2) Watching lots of superhero shows/movies. This is where I was getting a lot of inspiration from, and lemme tell you; there is a lot of superhero shows. Recently I have been watching: Batman the brave and the bold, Legion of superheroes, Super Hero Squad Show, The Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes, The Spectacular Spiderman, X-men evolution, and Young Justice. Frick yeah that's a lot of super.

3) Working the Grind. I have been working a lot, and although that's nothing interesting to yammer on about, I have gained some seniority at copperside, and am now "trusted" to not fuck everything up (a trait sorely lacking in many other employees). However, I also had an interview again for Seven Sisters, and the interview went, well, perfectly. I answered all the questions with great answers, I knew what I was talking about concerning schizophrenia, and I was consistently able to make the interviewers happy/laughing, which is an important indicator of positive reactions. I await a phone call.

4) I did get sick again, but only briefly, though I did miss a day of work. Thankfully most of my sickness happened on my two days off..... on valentines day..... blarg. Anywho, I am better, and now have only a slight case of the sniffles.

5) I have been drawing a whole bunch, mostly of the microhero and pixel art variety, which I believe will be my prominent media of art for a great long time. I have posted a bunch of it on deviant art, at http://sleeping-demons.deviantart.com and will soon be posting more junk. I have made reworked LGC characters (some vastly reworked, as the old ones now look silly by comparison), Justice League, and a variety of other characters, including Wolverine, Superman, September soldier, and the awesome Costumed Crime fighter - Squarebear.

6) I am Squarebear.

That's all for now, Good luck, and gods speed.

Good news

Well, I am much calmer now, though I did get a cold which forced me to miss work. Oh well, the good news is that Novemberween went smashingly, with many of us getting smashed. It was a grand event, and very fun. Also good stuff is that Assistive technologies has told me that my computer is under full warranty, so this is goodly. Mreow!

I am tired now, and I should be asleep already, but its been one of those energetic evenings.

Too much geekery for one night (mostly comic books and watching superman the animated series)

Good night Seattle!

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.

Well, the lappy died off.

It is currently being fixed (hopefully), along with warranty from assistive technologies BC. I hope it is, since I am at my wits end with regards to one specific thing. I am borrowing Alex's computer, and aside from a very different keyboard configuration, It runs windows 7, with windows 7 paint program. This paint program makes pixel art - without any exaggeration at all - impossible. I don't know how they fucked up so badly, but I am incapable of using windows 7 paint program, and windows 7 does not support its older paint programs.

I am really fucking angry from this, and that is bad, because pixel art is how I usually relax. Now I have nothing but rage, and greater hate for microsoft. If I cannot get my lappy fixed, which is another anxiety I dont want to contemplate, I will have to try to get a new one with XP, or at least get a new one, and quickly get XP installed on it.

I am not having a good time.

However, I am trying to be calm, and celebrate Novemberween on Monday, which will hopefully be good. We will have baconduck, sushi, and other nommable foods. There will also be presents and other junk, so it promises to be fun.

Axis

The Axis of Alcohol

Well, tonight was a good night, and since I do not work on the morrow, I decided it would be prudent and alphanumeric to go and get alcohol. I had a sudden want for sake, so I went to the nearby alcohol monger, who sold me some fine stuff from japan. My first thought was to make some sort of night of it, so I also bought a German beer and Alex bought an Italian wine. Okay, the wine was not Italian, but I distinctly remember vineyards in Italy. They were full of grapes and Italians. So we had the Axis of Alcohol, and it was grand. We then watched the funny movies on my computer, I made noodles that turned into the Philippines, and then there was a cat dancing in front of a bear and an alligator, which turned into the Japanese pepper and cheese guys who shot hyper beams of flavour into the noodle jar of that gaijin woman who then was dancing up and down and talking about Choco party, which was okay. that was my night, and all my sake seems to be gone, as does my German beer, and all tats left is the endless black of the nightfall. I will go to sleep now, and dream of the days before the lighting of the world, and the turning of the gods.

Observation

I have noticed that I always think of awesome things to write when I am at work (which, by the way, I have been doing a lot of), but when I get home the will to write has left me. I have noticed over the years - notably while at school - that I am far more creative and zealous over my creation when I am supposed to be doing something else. I take this information cautiously, as I find it good that I have figured out more of myself (Know thyself), however bad that I work in such a particular fashion. I am sure Tom Waits would have something to say about this situation - being struck by inspiration at the worst of times. I will have to consider this, and try to make better sense of it, and see if I can work with/past it.

Thats all for now folks.

Om Nom

it means eating yummy foods.

So, I am feeling much better than I was a little while ago. Some strange junk has been happening at work, with an old coworker being rehired after she quit to leave town. She was not the nicest person working there, but she seems much better now, which is good. Everybodies hours have also been cut back to deal with the winter slow down, or moreover, to deal with flu season.

In happier terms, I now have more time off! and as if to rain on that parade, the sky is raining on my parade (which consists of me wandering around). Serious amounts of Gloom, and it has gotten to me a bit. the outside is grey and dark and yucky, and it is filling my day off with "Bleh".

To remedy this, I intend to drink more coffee, have some good homemade food, and try to watch a movie or write some junk, maybe for Kid Kaiju. I would like suggestions from any of the readers as to good possible Kid Kaiju related junk; new monsters, funny stories, something i should do for it, etc...
